The Rise of Delta 8: Products and Possibilities

Rise, Sir Delta 8! I anoint thee, the guardian of the cannabinoids, with your ability to promote a less potent high than delta 9 while still having many of the same benefits. Granted, it’s hard to see the above happening in Camelot, although King Arthur might be a little more chilled out.

He might have forgiven Sir Lancelot for falling in love with Queen Guinevere. Certainly, he’d be a lot less angry at Lance and maybe even see the funny side once he’d used enough.

Alas, we’ll never know since delta 8 products have only been available for a relatively short time. Also, Camelot didn’t exist, even though it seems very real after your third hit of a joint laced with moonrocks.

In any case, I’m here today to talk about the available delta 8 products on the market, and its possible future. Let’s get medieval!

What Delta 8 Products Can I Buy?

It’s a pretty new market, so don’t expect to find as many options as you would with delta 9. That being said, the rapid growth of this exciting new industry means there are significantly more products than a couple of years ago. Let’s check out what’s available.

Delta 8 Gummies

Lots of people like delta 8 gummies because they’re easy to use and you can measure the dose. D8 is about half as strong as D9, but this doesn’t mean you should go overboard.

Remember, gummies take a while to have an effect. So, don’t eat three or four of them because you didn’t feel an effect after 20 minutes. Otherwise, you could find yourself accompanying Lance and other knights, such as Galahad, Gawain, Kay, Tristan, and bunch of other dudes who will bore you with their tales of heroism and chivalry.

Just wait until the get the one-thousand-yard stare from Percival because you didn’t hold the door for the barmaid (whom he calls a wench without a hint of irony).

Delta 8 Vape

These products are also quite common, although fewer websites offer them these days. That’s because the USPS decided to ban the posting of vape products. So, there are warehouses full of vape juice just waiting for an enterprising stoner to find them, and pull the products out like Arthur did with Excalibur.

If you happen to find a brand willing to deliver to your location (please ensure D8 is legal in your state), you’ll enjoy the fast onset of its effects. Vaping is a convenient and discreet method of consuming delta 8. You can take a few puffs and dream of taking the hand of a fair maiden without anyone knowing. That’s because the vapor produced by these devices emits minimal odor, and the clouds disappear within seconds.

This is in stark contrast to the fetid stench of marijuana smoke that lingers on your clothes, hair, furniture, and seemingly everything it touches.

Delta 8 Tinctures

If you’ve ever used CBD oil, you’ll know what to expect with D8 tinctures. You can consume this product sublingually, which means placing the drops beneath your tongue and holding them there for up to a minute before swallowing.

While the effects don’t become noticeable as quickly as they do with vape juice, the onset is faster than with edibles. Also, assuming the brand has accurately labeled the product, you can accurately measure how much of the cannabinoid you use.

Other Delta 8 Products

You might find delta 8 edibles apart from gummies. Possible options include baked goods, chocolate, and even drinks. Granted, such products are decidedly rare, but let’s face it, there’s bound to be at least one brand that’s made the attempt!

One other possible option is delta 8 capsules. They represent a simple way to consume the cannabinoid. You don’t need to worry about taste, nor do you need to complete a complicated procedure. Swallow one with water, and you’re all set.

What Does Delta 8’s Future Hold?

There’s relatively little research into D8 at present. The studies that are available tend to focus on the fact there isn’t much data! There is a suggestion that delta 8 might have effects akin to delta 9.

What’s exciting is that delta 8 products are federally legal in the United States. That is, if they are derived from hemp and contain a maximum of 0.3% THC. The problem is that a growing number of states have banned the product.

Now, it’s easy to get apply a hearty dose of whataboutism here. In the states that have banned delta 8, you can buy alcohol, tobacco cigarettes, and a huge array of deadly opioids (okay those are mainly on subscription).

Is this a good reason to allow another substance onto the market that lawmakers aren’t sure about? Absolutely not. Indeed, it seems that these bans are based on genuine concerns about the delta 8 manufacturing process. It is nice to know that legislators don’t want the equivalent of bathtub gin on the market.

The question is, where was all this public safety concern when tobacco cigarettes remained on the market despite tons of research saying they were incredibly addictive and deadly? Where is all the public safety concern about the harm caused by alcohol? Where were the pearl clutchers when it came to opioids being prescribed like Skittles?

There’s a lot more to the story than public safety, that’s for sure. As far as delta 8 products are concerned, it could be that so many states ban them that the federal government decides to follow suit. At present, though, it is a thriving market with a growing number of customers.
